Addie grew up in Burke, Virginia and graduated from UVA with a BS in Biology in 2019. Her undergraduate research focused on androgen regulation of dimorphic phenotypes in brown anole lizards. After graduation, she worked as a technician in Lance Johnson's lab at the University of Kentucky where she studied the effect of ApoE genotype on metabolism. Addie joined the Lukens lab in 2022 and is looking forward to investigating microglial dynamics in neurodegenerative pathways. Outside of lab, Addie likes to play soccer, take naps, watch DC and UVA sports, and hangout with her cats.
