Ana grew up in La Vall d’Uixo, a small town near Valencia, Spain. In 2020, she graduated with a B.S. in Microbiology from the University of Wyoming, where she also played college tennis. Some of her undergraduate research was focused on understanding the role of ILCs in regulating adaptive CD8+ Tcells responses to the parasite Toxoplasma gondii. Since she joined the Lukens lab, she has become interested in uncovering the role that traumatic brain injury and gut dysbiosis play in developing Alzheimer’s disease. Outside of the lab, she enjoys watching and playing tennis, running, hiking, cooking new foods, and exploring wineries in the area.
