Jessica grew up in Jakarta, Indonesia, and graduated from Emmanuel College with a B.S. in Biology (Neuroscience). Her undergraduate research focused on prenatal fluoxetine exposure in autism spectrum and mood disorders. After graduating, she joined the lab of Roy H. Perlis, MD, MSc, where she studied microglia-mediated synaptic pruning in schizophrenia and neural bioenergetics in CDKL5 deficiency disorder. She joined the Lukens lab in 2021 and is interested in studying neuroimmune dysregulation in Alzheimer’s disease. Outside of the lab, she enjoys playing with her dogs, hiking, and analog photography.
