Michael was born in Colorado Springs, Colorado where he lived before moving to Virginia in 2008. He spent some time in North Virginia before moving and growing up in Louisa, County Virginia where he graduated from high school and the Blue Ridge Virtual Governor’s School while also receiving an Associate’s of Science degree from Piedmont Virginia Community College. Following high school Michael continued his academic career at the College of William and Mary where he earned a Bachelor’s degree of Science majoring in neuroscience.

Michael then joined the Lukens laboratory the summer following graduation. He plans to apply for a Data Science Master’s in the next cycle of applications while continuing to hone his research skills and methods. Outside of the lab Michael enjoys board games, trivia, snowboarding, kickball, and playing soccer.
